Pet food, bird feeders, and fallen fruit are all tempting targets for unwanted animals. Be sure to remove any edible items that are attracting predators.

If hungry predators know they can access a chicken coop that's left unlocked or a bird feeder that's easily reached, they will keep returning to the area. Secure trash cans with tie-downs, place bird feeders out of reach, and ensure that chicken coops and pens are locked at night.

Depending on the eye height of the predator you want to deter, mount Predator Guard lights 1 to 8 feet above the ground on a post, fence, or exterior of a wall. For best results, mount 4 units, facing outwards in each direction to keep predators far away.

Predator Guard units are solar-powered. They require 4 to 5 hours of sunlight per day to recharge batteries. Place each device in an open unshaded area. Units should be mounted so approaching predators can see the lights (at the eye level of the unwanted predator). Predator Guard lights can be seen up to 1/2 mile away.

Predator Guard deterrent units have no adverse effect on domestic animals. Your own pets feel secure around your home and property, whereas wild animals entering an unknown area and are spooked by what they perceive as a threat. This makes them keep moving and looking for other areas to hunt.

Predator Guard lights need 4 to 5 hours of bright daylight each day for a full charge - this does not need to be direct sunlight. These units will not work in the shade.
